Apple Nears $1 Billion-a Year Deal to Use Google AI for Siri
By Mark Gurman via Bloomberg
Apple is nearing a deal to pay about $1 billion per year for Google’s 1.2-trillion-parameter AI model to power a long-promised overhaul of Siri.
After an extensive evaluation, the two companies are finalizing an agreement that would give Apple access to Google’s technology, according to people familiar.
The model would help run the next version of Siri.
𝕏: Apple is planning to use a custom 1.2 trillion parameter Google Gemini model to help power the new Siri next year. The iPhone maker will be paying the search giant roughly $1 billion annually for it. Details on the partnership here - Mark Gurman (@markgurman)
Gemini Deep Research can tap into your Gmail and Google Drive
By Abner Li via 9to5Google
Gemini Deep Research now integrates Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Chat, scanning Docs/Slides/Sheets/PDFs plus emails and messages to directly inform results; previously it pulled only from the web and uploaded PDFs/images.
A new Sources dropdown in Gemini’s Tools lets you pick Search, Gmail, Drive, or Chat to, for example, compile a market analysis from brainstorming docs and email threads or build a competitor report that blends public data with internal files/chats.

𝕏: Gemini Deep Research can now connect to Mail, Search, Drive, and Chat. I ran a quick test on email and it is freaking good. It pulls tons of data, summarizes it, and gives accurate insights. Had to remove the email section from the screenshots for privacy, but it is worth trying out. They nailed this one. - AshutoshShrivastava (@ai_for_success)

Whisper Into This AI-Powered Smart Ring to Organize Your Thoughts
By Julian Chokkattu via WIRED
Sandbar’s Stream Ring from Mina Fahmi and Kirak Hong (ex CTRL-Labs/Meta) is an AI smart ring you can whisper into; it transcribes (no audio saved) to the Stream app, uses tap-and-hold with no wake word, is waterproof, not always listening, and doubles as a media controller.
Availability: preorders are open with a ring-sizing kit; shipping targeted for summer 2026; initially, you need the ring to access the app.
Tech and use: mixes on-device/phone/cloud LLMs; replies in a voice similar to yours via ElevenLabs; early usage roughly 20% notes / 20% single queries / 60% conversations; promises all-day battery, plus desktop access, note sharing, and time-based reminders.
𝕏: Most wearables fail because they compete with what already exists. People don’t want more devices. They want fewer that do something truly new. If a ring needs AirPods, or a necklace needs your phone, you’ve already lost. Redundancy decays progress. The winning form factors do what a phone cannot… - Felix Hartmann (@FelixOHartmann)
Google is in early discussions to deepen its investment in Anthropic
By Ben Bergman via Business Insider
Google is in early talks to deepen its Anthropic investment, potentially valuing the startup at >$350B; structures under discussion include added Google Cloud compute, a convertible note, or a priced round early next year. Terms remain in flux and both companies declined comment.
Context: Google has invested >$3B for ~14%; Anthropic raised $13B at a $138B valuation in September; OpenAI reached $500B in an October secondary. Big Tech alignments: Amazon and Google backing Anthropic vs. Microsoft and Nvidia backing OpenAI.
Compute footprint: Anthropic secured access to up to 1M Google TPUs (October deal) while calling Amazon its primary training partner; AWS Project Rainer (≈500k Trainium2 chips) is powering Claude, with NVIDIA GPUs also in use.
The Next Big Quantum Computer Has Arrived
By Isabelle Bousquette via Wall Street Journal
Quantinuum unveiled Helios on Nov. 5, 2025, describing it as a major leap in scale and capability that signals a new phase for high-performance quantum computing.
Early users, including JPMorgan Chase, will use Helios to test and identify which real-world business problems quantum methods can realistically address.
With a $10 billion valuation and status as one of the field’s biggest players, Quantinuum is positioning Helios to accelerate enterprise exploration of practical quantum applications.
