Let’s dive in

WhatsApp Adds an Incognito Mode in Meta AI Chats

By Ivan Mehta via TechCrunch

  • Meta launched an incognito mode for conversations with Meta AI inside WhatsApp, where chats are processed in a secure environment and disappear by default when closed.

  • Users tap a new icon in the Meta AI chat to activate an incognito session, powered by Meta’s Muse Spark model. The session ends automatically when the app is closed or the phone is locked.

  • The feature is rolling out to WhatsApp and the standalone Meta AI app over the coming months, positioning Meta as a privacy-forward AI provider for its 2 billion WhatsApp users.

AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon Reach Satellite Coverage Joint Venture Agreement

By Andrew J. Hawkins via The Verge

  • AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon have agreed in principle to form a joint venture to deploy direct-to-device satellite connectivity across the United States.

  • The JV would pool spectrum resources from all three carriers to establish common technical specifications and work with satellite partners like AST SpaceMobile through a unified platform.

  • The deal, still subject to regulatory approval, aims to eliminate rural dead zones and positions the Big Three as a unified force against SpaceX‘s Starlink-based satellite offering.

𝕏: Go back a handful of years and <0.1% of cellular subscribers were satellite subscribers. Now ATT, Verizon, and T-Mobile are forming a joint venture to end dead zones using satellites. (that’s ~400m subscribers)...I think it’s becoming clearer that should go to 100% - Sam Korus (@skorusARK)

Microsoft Is Retiring Copilot Mode on Edge, Because Everything Is Copilot Mode Now

By Mariella Moon via Engadget

  • Microsoft is retiring the dedicated Copilot Mode on Edge because its AI features are now built directly into the browser experience for both desktop and mobile.

  • New capabilities include tab analysis across multiple open pages, Study Mode for converting articles into structured notes, and Tab-to-Podcast, which turns open tabs into an audio summary.

  • Microsoft began testing Copilot Mode in July 2025. The retirement signals that Copilot is no longer an optional toggle in Edge but the default browsing layer across all platforms.

𝕏: Microsoft Edge has now tightly integrated its Copilot AI system into the Web browsing experience, which is darn helpful! Here’s one cool capability: analysis of the page you’re viewing, which works particularly well with news stories. - Dave Taylor (@DaveTaylor)

Anthropic Reinstates OpenClaw and Third-Party Agent Usage on Claude Subscriptions — With a Catch

By Carl Franzen via VentureBeat

  • Anthropic reversed its April 2026 ban on using Claude paid subscriptions with OpenClaw and third-party agents, introducing a new “Agent SDK” credit system for all paid subscribers.

  • The new credits are a dedicated monthly dollar-amount allocation for programmatic use, billed at API rates against the credit, removing the cost burden from the general subscription pool.

  • The original ban came after third-party tools allowed a $20 Pro subscription to run agents costing hundreds at standard API rates. The new credit system launches on June 15, balancing access with sustainable pricing.

𝕏: To add some clarity: you don’t pay extra. It’s the same subscription, same price per month. What’s new our sub now covers two separate pools: · Interactive → sub limits, unchanged · Programmatic → new $20–$200 included(!!) credit, metered at API rates - Lydia Hallie (@lydiahallie)

Meta Launches Instants, a New iPhone App and Instagram Feature for Ephemeral Sharing

By Zac Hall via 9to5Mac

  • Meta launched Instants, a new ephemeral photo-sharing feature built into Instagram and available as a companion standalone app for iPhone.

  • Photos shared via Instants disappear after viewing but are archived for up to a year, allowing users to reshare them as a Story recap. Replies route directly to Instagram DMs.

  • The feature combines elements of Snapchat and BeReal, launching globally for iPhone starting May 13. The standalone app offers faster camera access for users who prefer shooting outside the main Instagram feed.
